CMR INSURANCE

C.M.R. (International Road Carrier Liability Insurance)

This insurance covers the legal liabilities arising from the CMR convention for transport companies engaged in international road transport, under the terms and limits specified in the policy.

The CMR Convention is an international agreement that sets the limits and framework of the carrier's responsibility to the cargo owner for commercial goods transported by road from or to any country that is a signatory to this convention, including Turkey.

Requirements for Damage Notification:

  • Policy number
  • Date of damage
  • Location where the damage occurred
  • Address and contact phone number where the damaged goods are located
  • Estimated amount of damage
  • Note: CMR damage notifications can be made online from the "Damage Notification" section in the upper menu.

Required Documents for Damage File:

When it comes to international shipments:

  • Invoice approved against foreign currency
  • Customs entry declaration (in case of import)
  • Customs exit declaration (in case of export)
  • Copies of vehicle registration documents
  • TIR Carnet
  • Bill of lading with reserve notes / Customs report / Bill of lading
  • Accident report (if there is a traffic accident)
  • Packing list
  • Photos
  • Survey report from the cargo insurer
  • Proof of payment from the cargo insurer
  • Invoice or letter proving that the cargo owner holds the carrier responsible for the damage within the legal liability framework
  • If the cargo owner has any transportation cargo insurance, a copy of the policy

  • Invoice
  • Delivery note
  • Report
